Academic Posts

Lecturers at Public Universities (PU) are classified under Educational Services and are responsible for job scopes, which include teaching & supervision, research & publication, clinical duties (for Lecturers in Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmacy) and academic leadership duties. To attract and retain these talented lecturers, UM has come up with a benchmark that is flexible and fair to measure the performances of these lecturers. We also ensure that lecturers are given adequate recognition and appreciation for their contribution.

Non-Academic Posts

These posts are divided into 3 groups of posts depending on the role priority, salary schemes, and academic requirements. The categories are:

  • High management posts
  • Executive posts
  • Operational posts

High management and executive posts would require a minimum requirement of bachelor’s degree, while operational posts are available for Diploma holders, that of the same level or below (STPM, Matriculation, SPM, PT3). The categorization of these posts are according to the Malaysian government’s Scheme of Service & Employment.

Research Posts

Researchers are not only reserved for lecturers, but also for laboratory researchers, research assistants, and post-doctoral fellows attached to the university. These posts are responsible for advancing your assigned field of study at one of the world’s leading research institutions.
